The ADFP Pioneering Award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of divorce finance.

In her keynote presentation, “Reinventing Divorce is Rewriting History”, Ms. Vasileff shared her own journey through divorce and its financial pitfalls, and how that experience became the impetus for her career as a divorce financial planner.  Clearly passionate on the subject of family within divorce, she outlined the evolution of divorce in this country.  According to Ms. Vasileff, we are at the beginning of a better understanding of how families can cope with the divorce process.  “Law is helping to advance the idea that the whole family is the client in divorce,” she explained. “Each divorce represents not just the legal divorce but many other divorces – social, economic and emotional.  As divorce financial planners, we are the driving force in the economic process of divorce.”  She concluded her presentation by urging her colleagues to use their financial expertise to empower their clients throughout the divorce process.
